Hidden
amongst the rolling hills of beautiful Zoar Valley is the
Cross Custom Works studio.
Home of Artist Chuck McIsaac, a craftsman
who creates exquisite custom furniture, lighting, fine garden and architectural
works in iron.
Located just outside the quaint little town of Gowanda, NY the studio is surrounded by thriving nature and beautiful landscapes.
This creative energy is
evident in all of the artist's work. Internationally renown, Chuck McIsaac,
has been creating exceptional, works of art for the past 20 years.
As well as commissions in
wrought iron he often works in solid forged brass, copper, stainless steel and
aluminum. The artist is a traditional blacksmith who utilizes time-honored metal
working techniques as well as modern approaches to create unique architectural
ironwork. When shaped by hand at several hundred degrees steel manifests unique
characteristics which no other material possesses. It can be both massive and
delicate. It can range from industrial to organic. The artist transforms the steel
into beautiful objects using design elements and techniques that only a few
craftsmen have mastered.
He enjoys the
challenge and creativity that go into each piece of art that he and the client
envision.
Born in Buffalo, NY in 1969. He grew up in the small suburb of
Orchard Park, NY. His talent as an artist and fabricator were apparent
at a young age. Since childhood, the artist has been influenced and captivated by
many styles of architecture and antiques. From Victorian Art Nouveau and
Art Deco, to Gothic Architecture and Medieval Castles. He has
successfully portrayed these styles through his own interpretations of wrought
iron work and metal fabrication. "Anything creative is an
inspiration", Chuck says.
A well
recognized member of the American Blacksmiths of North America (ABANA)
organization, Chuck McIsaac has been featured in their publications along
side a hand full of the nations most talented and renown blacksmiths and metal smiths.
The artist specializes in creating one-of-a-kind custom furniture, lighting and
driveway gates, but has also lent his unique talent to smaller projects like
candle holders, candelabras, interior gates/doors, room dividers, and custom
bathroom vanities. His work is becoming very sought
after and well collected. Several clients own exclusive series of the
artist's work. It is certain that his valuable unique creations will be
cherished and enjoyed by generations to come.
